Zumajo Trend

Zumajo Trend – Head frame at Mina San Juan.  One of two shafts with mining in operation from 1950 to 1958 and reaching a depth of approximately 47 metres. Mining was suspended due to a lack of funding to deepen the mine with lead-silver mineralisation remaining open at depth and along strike.  The mines are described as having exploited very rich veins from several centimetres to over 20 centimetres thick -  Government reports indicate ore grades of 56-79% Pb and 158-279g/t Ag.
